Trailer Treasure: A Complete Unknown
It's hard not to see trailers for music biopics and not think about "Walk Hard," and this trailer is no exception. However, the talent surrounding the film is supremely encouraging. It's being directed by James Mangold, who has been extremely successful with biopics, including "Walk the Line" (the source material for "Walk Hard") and "Ford v Ferrari," a 2020 Best Picture nominee. The film is not looking to tell the entire life story of Bob Dylan but just focuses on his switch to electric, as captured by Elijah Wald in his 2015 book "Dylan Goes Electric! Newport, Seeger, Dylan, and the Night That Split the Sixties." The film also stars Timothée Chalamet, who looks the part and spent years working with vocal coaches in an attempt to nail the icon's iconic nasal voice. Lastly, the film received the ever-elusive blessing of Bob Dylan himself. As a lifelong fan of Robert Allen Zimmerman. The film is set to release this December and has big time Oscar bait vibes.
