Wimbledon Quarter-Final: Fritz vs Musetti
I write this blog with a heavy heart. I really wanted to write about Djokovic and how he was going to dominate Alex De Minaur 3-0 in sets. Well, I would have been right because apparently Alex De Minaur did in fact have a hip injury, causing him to withdraw. The injury was something that was seen in his last match, and after Djokovic was booed in his previous rant and went on his anti-Wimbledon crowd tirade, I am certain we would have been treated to an all-time performance from tennis's best.
But chins off the chest, no use in crying in our strawberries and cream because we will get a relatively decent match this morning. The world's No. 13 Taylor Fritz takes on the world's No. 25. Fritz has been on a tear this Wimbledon, making waves after telling Arthur Rinderknech to "Enjoy your flight home" and then completing a miracle comeback Monday after dropping his first two sets. Taylor has spectacular serve quality and relies heavily on it; look for him to try and make short work of the Italian Musetti.
However, styles make fights, and Musetti loves a rally. Through four matches, he averages 42.75 games and has not won in straight sets. While Fritz averages 38 games (slightly skewed by Monday's 55-game comeback) and has won two of his four matches in straight sets.
What does this all mean?! Well, what I hope it means is we're in for a long one. Which is why I am taking over 38.5 games (-110). Hopefully, Lorenzo can pick up an early set or two by frustrating the American before Taylor Gang's blazing serve takes over. Enjoy the match.
The Pick: Over 38.5 Games
