Brewtul Day in Oxford Missipi

Tragedy struck in Oxford, Mississippi, just days before classes are set to begin at Ole Miss, as a delivery truck dropped dozens of cases of beer just blocks from campus. Police asked that drivers use alternate routes as the spill was being cleaned up and contained.

School Chancellor Dr. Glenn Boyce issued a statement that read: "We are deeply saddened by the recent tragedy that occurred near campus. Please know that counseling and support services are available to help you through this difficult time. Let us come together to support one another."

Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin declared that the Rebels this year would be playing in memory of the fallen ales.

Students gathered on campus Thursday evening to hoist a candle and cold one to honor the lost lagers. Classes are still scheduled to begin Monday. The school remains hopeful this return to normalcy will help lift the sadness felt by the student body.
