Fund The Police
After nearly two decades, New Jersey State Police have parted ways with Trooper Jason Dare. Dare was let go from the Department on Nov. 27 after he had checked himself out of a medical facility, and it was noticed on his missing person poster - A GIANT HITLER'S YOUTH NECK TATTOO!
Jason Dare's dismissal from the force does not directly cite the "Blood and Honor" tattoo that is very visible on his neck. The charges instead include "uniform and grooming standards," so as to include that Dare frequently had his fly open and terrible breath.
It was the department who had released the missing person photo before a sharp-eyed internet sleuth was able to notice THE GIANT HITLER'S YOUTH NECK TATTOO! The same internet sleuths would later notice and point out that many, if not all, of Dare's tattoos were references to white supremacy. A spokesman from The New Jersey State Police did not respond to a request for additional information.
Now, some people might read this article and get on their high antifa horses and start back up their "defund the police" chants. They would point to multiple decades of this trooper's career and call into question how he could have been given such responsibility for so long and how many more troopers might have similar ideology. Yeah, those yahoos would probably want to talk about the need for reform among law enforcement, better recruiting and screening processes, and crisis training and management. But I bet not one of those whack jobs who think this clearly illustrates their point about potential issues in law enforcement even took a moment to think...maybe they were so overworked and stressed they just missed it?
Being a police officer is a hard job, and one that has largely become thankless in our country's social climate. And while there is an overwhelming need for overhaul, it is not elimination. The function of law enforcement is to protect and serve. I think most would agree that those functions should be flipped to reflect a more accurate depiction of how police should conduct themselves. And, while it is awfully difficult to serve a populace who hates your guts, it is more difficult to stand behind law enforcement when a State Police Department had a trooper for 20 years with A GIANT HITLER'S YOUTH NECK TATTOO!
