Presidential Debate Odds!

We are just days away from the first presidential debate. A debate that many thought would never occur (myself included). While a weary nation watches on, these two geriatric giants will go toe to toe on the CNN stage in Atlanta.

The debate will not have an audience in attendance, which should favor President Biden, who has not always been the strongest public speaker. It also hurts former President Trump, as he is a huge crowd work guy and seems to show up to rallies and events with little to nothing prepared.

The host of the event is CNN's Jake Tapper, something else that would favor the incumbent president. But, you would be a fool to count out ole Donny boy, who is a master debater with clips that live in infamy (Wrong!, Little Marco, Sleepy Joe..etc).

Even without an audience, he will likely interrupt, call foul play, and make gestures. This election will be awful, but this debate could be some world-class comedy. Just thinking about it…

I am looking forward to sitting down with a local lager and enjoying the show Thursday night.

If you are not as excited to watch this debate, I can totally understand that. So, let me spice things up for you with some prop bets for the first presidential debate! Now, some of these odds are going to be a bit long since presidential debates are a bit formulaic and have been around since 1976. Also, we know these candidates fairly well, so we will have to find value in the unexpected. These are the actual odds from an offshore gambling site. Let's break em down!

CNN June Debate Winner

 Joe Biden -170

 Donald Trump +130

According to the first post-debate CNN poll of debate viewers to ask who won. Poll may be co-sponsored. Others on request.

To be clear, there will not be a debate winner. Just a loser, the American people. That being said, based on how it will be determined (a CNN poll), Joe Biden will win this prop. At -170 (you would have to bet 170 dollars to win 100), there is not a lot of value there and the juice is a bit too much for the squeeze. Still, CNN viewers are Biden voters, so that would be as close to a lock as there is.

Specials

Biden To Wear An American Flag Pin -2000

Trump To Wear An American Flag Pin -2000

Pins are in. The flag pin is a debate staple. If there were long shot odds about someone not wearing one, I would maybe sprinkle, with the thought that someone (Biden) could forget, or someone (Trump) might make some sort of statement choice going pinless or with something else.

Republican Vice President Announced Before Debate -200

I do not think this has value! I know it will not be done at the debate because Donny likes a pop and there will be no audience, but I think the VP nomination is sort of Trump's trump card, for lack of a better phrase.

Biden To Wear A Striped Pattern Tie -150

Nope, Joe is going solid for his tie. He has got to. Show some strength with a solid necktie Brandon.

Trump To Have At Least One Monologue Lasting Over 5 Minutes -110

I doubt Jake Tapper is going to let ole uncle Donny get on one, so again I would say no to this.

Republican Vice President Announced After Debate +150

As previously stated, I believe that Donald's campaign is keeping this one close to the vest until it best suits them.

Trump To Say "Drill, Baby, Drill" +150

I did not know this was a thing he is saying now. But I would bet this one just because it sounds hilarious. Although it does sound like something he would say to his base and not to an empty room.

Trump To Wear A Striped Pattern Tie +150

Nope. Red solid.

Trump To Use A Pejorative/Slur Against A Demographic In The First 10 Minutes +250

This feels a bit vague and does have great value. Also, I am pretty sure Donald Trump is not keeping up with what might be considered pejorative, so I would sprinkle on this.

Trump to Announce His Vice President During The Debate +1000

I know I have previously stated this as something that is unlikely to be shared anytime soon, but I do see the value here should Trump feel like sharing this information as some kind of gotcha moment in context.

I promise you these last two are real despite being a bit cruel:

Biden To Fall Asleep At The Podium +2500

Absolutely not. Sleepy Joe might be a lot of things, but one thing he will not be Thursday night is ill-prepared. I expect both candidates to be so jacked up on government-grade Adderall they could keep up with a long-haul truck driver.

Biden To Soil Himself At The Podium +5000

Another real and offensive prop that is listed that just flat out makes no sense. How would we even know this? Both parties are probably diapered up and loving it.

Will RFK, Jr debate?

 Yes +1800/ No -20000

I like the value here. Yes, it is very un-American for CNN to limit the debate to mainstream candidates, although based on RFK's voice, they may think they are doing us a favor. Still, I would not mind a little sprinkle on yes. Maybe he just shows up out of the rafters like Shawn Michaels in WrestleMania 96. Would be a hell of a debate and get my vote.

So there are some props courtesy of Bovada. They also have a lot of "Buzz Word" props that might be fun to play as a bingo card or something. Whether you want to have some action on the debate or just knowing the winner will likely lead us into a new unimaginable hellscape is excitement enough, I hope you enjoy the first Presidential Debate. I know I will.
