Water is Wet and Kawhi Leonard Being Sidelined Indefinitely...again
In what NBA insiders are calling the least shocking news of the preseason, Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out indefinitely. The 33-year-old has missed the entirety of the preseason, continuing to rehab inflammation in his right knee.
This is the same injury that kept him off the U.S. Olympic team this summer and limited him last season. Leonard was first sidelined back in March and went on to miss the final eight games of the year. Ironically, that season was considered a bright spot in his career, as he played over 60 games for the first time since 2016.
The Clippers opted not to bring back Paul George due to injury concerns but had no issue extending Leonard—despite the fact that throughout his career, he's been off the court more than on it. The one-time NBA champion and six-time All-Star responded to the news with a shrug, while ESPN dutifully copied and pasted the “Kawhi Injured” headline.
