Thursday Night Lights: Back the Buffs, Row the Boat, and Expect Cam Rising to Return at Full Strength

This is the opening night of college football, and while there aren't many exciting prestige matchups, it's still good to crack the knuckles and wet the beak. Let's hop in:

Colorado TT 35.5 O (-115)*

Prime Time is back in prime time. The Buffs started hot last year, got a ton of attention, and then, much to the delight of many, they absolutely collapsed. Deion has since restocked his team through the portal, pissed off reporters, and treated cast-off players like a porta-potty at a Phish festival. And still they rise. Colorado has a ton of returning talent, an F-you attitude, and are playing on ESPN tonight. I expect them to score, and to score a lot. Buffs over 35 points.

*This line has already moved; you can get a much more favorable team total as of writing this.

Minnesota +2 (-112)

This line is moving, and by kick-off, P.J. Fleck's squad will likely be the favorite. And they should be! Fleck is an excellent motivator, and he is coming into the season as a home dog. Give me a fiery coach at home as a dog. Minnesota catching two.

Utah -40 (-108)

Every week you see these huge numbers next to a team and you say, "What the heck? Forty free points," and you think how could you not take it! Well, here's how: Cam Rising is back, and Southern Utah is heading into Rice-Eccles Stadium where I expect the Utes to show out. With Cam Rising returning, I think it's entirely possible they can cover the over of 55 on their own. With the Utes' stout defense, lay 40 points and enjoy the future Big 12 champions' start to the season.

Alright, friends. Just a quick three to get us started as we head into a huge weekend of college football kick-off. It's gonna happen fast, so savor every moment.

UPDATE
