Thursday Night Lights: NFL Picks and Props for San Francisco @ Seattle
San Francisco @ Seattle (+3) | O/U: 49
The Niners need Pedialyte, a greasy meal, and an aspirin because they are living the Super Bowl hangover. First, it was the holdouts, then the injuries, and most recently, their game plan. They are 2-3 with wins over the not-so-good New York Jets and the very bad New England Patriots. While Seattle has dropped their last two, including a loss to the New York Giants at home. So, who gets right on Thursday night? I’ve got some thoughts.
Game Breakdown: Niners, Laying, Under
The 49ers are starting to get healthy, and while that doesn’t mean a return for RB1, this is the best their receiving corps has been all season. There’s also a comparative data point: both of these teams have played New England. Seattle won by a FG in overtime, while San Fran dominated the Pats at home. And while both teams are coming off a loss, I much prefer Kyle Shanahan to first-year head coach Mike Macdonald in this spot. Taking a road favorite is risky, but this feels like the perfect spot for the Niners to turn their season around on the road in division. I like the Niners laying three. As for the total, I know it’s hovering around 50/50 for prime-time unders, but on a short week, prime-time game unders are 3-1. So, I’ll also be taking the under.
Bets Recap:
Side: SF -3 (-127)
Total: Under 49 (-112)
