Daniels Named Starter
Dan Quinn announced today that the overall #2 pick and Heisman winner Jayden Daniels will be the Commanders' starting quarterback. The announcement was met by a collective "uh, ya think" and "no duh" from reporters. The only competition for quarterback in DC had been NFL journeyman Marcus Mariota. This preseason, Jayden Daniels has gone 12/15, throwing for 123 yards and rushing for a touchdown in limited appearances. The rookie has been praised for not only his decision-making but his humility and swagger. With Kliff Kingsbury taking over offensive play-calling duties, it should be interesting to see what this dynamic playmaker is able to achieve. The Commanders open their NFL season on September 8th against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
