Thursday Night Lights: NFL Picks and Props for Dallas @ New York

Thursday Night Lights: NFL Picks and Props for Dallas @ New York

Dallas, coming off a short week and, despite the final score, an absolute ass-kicking at home, heads to the Meadowlands where the G-Men are starting to show some signs of life. The Giants' victory over the Browns gave us a heavy dose of Malik Nabers and a look at a middling team that could be 2-1 if they had remembered to dress a kicker the previous week. Meanwhile, the once-vaunted Cowboys defense has been tissue-paper soft, giving up 69 points in the last two games.

Dallas @ New York (+6) | O/U: 45

The Cowboys are in desperate need of a bounce-back game Thursday in New Jersey. And this would be the perfect spot for it, as last year they beat the Giants 40-0 in East Rutherford. However, this year’s Cowboys are not last year’s Cowboys. The once-proud defense has been shredded by both New Orleans and Baltimore. They currently rank last against the run and have not looked right. I expect the Giants to mix in a heavy dose of Devin Singletary and control the clock. I’ll take the points as I think both teams are not who we saw in Week 1 and are trending in different directions.

Game Breakdown: Giants, Points, Under

Deep exhale I want to keep it about tonight, but I have to acknowledge the historic Monday night game between the Bengals and Commanders, in which both teams neither punted nor turned it over. Yikes. That being said, I am still a prime-time under-rider. Dallas games have gone over 45 all year, while Giants games have stayed under. Cowboys games are averaging 55.33 points, while Giants games are averaging 36.33, making their combined average just over the number. As a believer in the Giants’ game plan to run the ball, I’m comfortable going under 45.

NFL Player Prop: Devin Singletary Over 60.5 Rushing Yards

I’ve mentioned my anticipated G-Men game plan (run the damn ball). I’ve talked about the Cowboys’ run defense (it’s butt cheeks). But what I haven’t mentioned is that, in two of three games this season, Devin Singletary has rushed for over 60 yards. In fact, he’s averaging 65.66 yards per game and 80 yards per game when given more than 10 touches.

Bets Recap:

  • Side: Giants +6 (-119)

  • Total: Under 45 (+136)*

  • NFL Player Prop: Devin Singletary Over 60.5 rushing yards (-125)
