Total Takedown: Celtics at Cavaliers

Team Totals. It is a simple bet, one with historical data to leverage and an easy rooting interest to understand. Here, Cal TTs will take you through the game of the day using wit, readily available information, and vibes. I cannot stress this enough. Data and vibes are the backbone of a team total pick.

Before jumping into today's team total, I want to get in front of something. I am sorry if your mobile device or computer has overheated from reading this column. Callie TT is red hot. The Knicks scoring only 16 points in the 4th and only 7 in the last 5 minutes of a close game last night might have proven this is a place of pure prophecy. Has the magic run out? I hope not because I like this one tonight too from a vibes perspective. Celtics TT 109.5 (-120).

My beloved Boston Celtics got their absolute dicks kicked in Thursday night in Game 2, falling 94 to 118 to the Cavs at home. It was the most baffling and disgusting display of basketball I have seen since...Game 2 of last series. So why do I think the Celtics are poised for a big bounce-back game against a Cavs team who is only letting up 90.6 points at home in the postseason? Well, first I considered the Celtics' average score off losses. In the regular season, they averaged 123.7 following a loss, and in their five meetings with the Cavs this year, they are averaging 110.8. I am going to dismiss their postseason total average of 105.83 and the fact that they have exceeded 109.5 only twice in the postseason because I think Thursday night's game will serve as a nice wake-up call to the team. I suspect the fellas will come out fired up and put up some serious buckets on the road.

The Pick: Celtics Team Total Over 109.5 (-120)

Record: (5-0)
